New movement in wine: luxury labels

While diamonds were never of great interest to me, combining them with Chianti is starting to get closer to my idea of a girl’s best friend.
This news comes from Tuscany, mecca for those who love prestigious Italian wine although the already high prices will be way out of reach with this new fashion.

Rather than the middling paper labels, some producers are experimenting with labels made from metal and set with precious stones.
One example is that created by Alberto Giannotti for the Fattoria Villa l’Olmo at Impruneta (Florence), with 134 set diamonds valued at more than 8000 euro.
From Chianti, the famous Capannelle producers have created labels for their magnums in this style, with the magnum Solare appearing in gold and silver.
All labels are made exclusively on request and can be personalised according to customers’ tastes.
The wine is, pardon the pun, a real gem to be collected and stored – perhaps in the new cellar at Capannelle, with its humidity and temperature controlled facilities.
With little space to spare, the 30 guests to be housed here will constitute the exlusive “Club del Caveau”, including events and meetings.
