These leaked pics of the new Mercedes R-Class show a significantly redesigned front end sporting a new bonnet, larger grille in ‘wide-screen’ style, new bumper and modified lights which include the new foglight design and changes to the indicators.
It’s a less angular design overall that fits in with other models in the Mercedes family.
The R-Class rear generally remains unchanged apart from new look tailights and bumper, and a squared off exhaust.
The interior is pretty much as it ever was but with a few new Mercedes technology touches.
The steering wheel, in a new design, gets air conditioning controls and we can also expect an AMG sports interior with different seats, steering wheel paddles and stainless steel pedals.
The new Mercedes R-Class will be presented at the upcoming New York auto show, where we should get more details, including news on the engine range.
In the meantime, the guys at Autoblog are betting on the standard V6 line-up of petrol and diesel.
