MV Agusta Rivale 800 @ 2012 EICMA in Milan

“Unquestionably MV Agusta“.
That the first thing that came to mind when we found ourselves in front of the new Rivale 800 at the 2012 EICMA show in Milan, a model that sees the legendary Italian brand entering a previously unexplored segment of the market with a bike that oozes emotion from every little detail.

We had seen some sketchy images before but they simply do not do justice to this awesome machine, which kind of made all of its competitors look and feel ‘old’ as soon as they took the veils off.
Its harmonious and yet gritty lines makes it look like a sculpture, with the mechanics and chassis always in the spotlight, but there’s obviously more than meet the eye, and it shows by the numbers: 125 hp at 11600 rpm, 170 kg just to name a couple straight up.
Technically speaking, the new MV Agusta Rivale 800 comes with a a new and eclectic interpretation of the modern three-cylinder engine that debuted on the F3 675 and Brutale 675 and 800, housed and exposed in a black steel-trellis frame.
Other highlights include Marzocchi and Sachs suspension, 320mm discs and four-piston radial calipers at the front and a 220mm disc mated to a twin-piston caliper at the back courtesy of Brembo, MVICS technology, full Ride-By-Wire, and an always fashionable single sided swingarm.

This outstanding MV Agusta Rivale 800 thoroughbred will be available in the second half of 2013 from 10.
990 €.
