“Musk Dismisses Senior Tesla Executives”

As reported by The Information early Tuesday, Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, is trimming down the company’s top-tier management and terminating hundreds more staff. This move stems from Musk’s dissatisfaction with declining sales and the slow pace of previous redundancies. As per the article, the CEO communicated this in an email to high-ranking officials in the company.

The Information reveals that Rebecca Tinucci, the senior Director of Tesla’s Supercharger unit, and Daniel Ho, who was in charge of new product lines, will exit the company on Tuesday morning. Moreover, the email from Musk indicated that all staff under Tinucci and Ho, including an estimated 500 employees in the Supercharger unit, would be laid off.

In his email, Musk stressed the need for a stringent approach towards staff reductions and cost-cutting. While some senior staff have taken this seriously, most are yet to do so, according to the CEO’s message. As reported, Tesla’s public policy team, previously headed by ex-exec Rohan Patel, will also be disbanded.

Tesla has yet to respond to requests for comments made by Reuters. Earlier this month, the company instructed that over 10% of its worldwide workforce be let go, as it confronts decreasing sales and increasingly competitive pricing within the electric vehicle (EV) market.

Mr Musk also acknowledged the exits of two senior officials, the head of battery development Drew Baglino and Rohan Patel, with messages of gratitude, causing some investor unease. This was reported by Nilutpal Timsina in Bengaluru, and edited by Savio D’Souza.
