Motorland Aragon circuit to name turn after Carlos Checa

With the World Superbike championship heading to the Motorland Aragon circuit this weekend for the 8th round of the season, has decided to pay tribute to Carlos Checa by naming one of their turns of the track after the first ever Spanish World Superbike champion.
This is the first time that the circuit has decided to name a corner after a rider and have chosen turn 3 to represent Checa.

The event will take place on Friday at 6pm right after QP1.
Checa didn’t have much luck at Aragon last year, when the circuit debuted on the WSBK calendar for the first time replacing Kyalami.
The Spaniard picked up a DNF in race 1, crashing for the first time in his romp to the 2011 World title and a 3rd spot in race 2, and this year he’s heading to the Alcaniz track with a 60 point deficit on leader Max Biaggi and can no longer make any mistakes (four crashes and an inexplainable tire choice in race 2 at Assen) in the next seven rounds if he wants to keep his championship crown.
