MotoGP Motegi: Casey Stoner takes second consecutive win but Yamaha riders steal the show

Casey Stoner took his second consecutive win the season at the Twin Ring Motegi race track that probably surprised both Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo who during the weekend had the better race pace.
The Australian dominated the entire race with Andrea Dovizioso trying his best to match the Ducatista’s super pace, but in the end had to settle for second place.

The battle for third in the final two laps was the most exciting moments of the 24 lap race with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo going at it like gladiators, fairing against fairing, exchanging positions at least a half of dozen time and clashing their Yamaha’s with Rossi getting the best of his team mate.
Lorenzo took the fourth spot and gained another 13 points that will take him to Sepang next weekend and just seven points from the World title.
Colin Edwards grabbed fifth and his best result of the season after overtaking Marco Simoncelli.
Seventh under the chequered flag was Alvaro Bautista who took the spot from his team mate Loris Capirossi when the Italian suffered a mechanical failure.

Ben Spies and Nicky Hayden ran off track on lap 2 and re-entering second and last.
The American had his work cut out for him but charged back through the field to take the eighth spot, while Hayden could only manage 12th.
Randy de Puniet ran off track fighting to keep his position against Ben Spies and took ninth, while Hiroshi Aoyama in his home race closed out the top ten.
