Moto3: Riccardo Moretti replaces Marcel Schrötter in Mahindra

Marcel Schrötter will be replace by Riccardo Moretti in Mahindra’s Moto3 team.
The German rider who has been racing with the Indian team since 2011, split after his home race last weekend at Sachsenring, as the 19-year old was tired of the development work invovled in bring the Indian/Italian machine up to speed and just wanted to race.

Schrötter will be replaced by 27-year-old Italian Riccardo Moretti, who is second in the Italian 125 CIVchampionship on a Mahindra.
“We would like to thank Marcel for his contribution during the last two years,” commented Mahindra Racing CEO Mufaddal Choonia.
“He is a very talented rider.
We part on good terms and he goes with our best wishes and a hope that we may work together again in the future.
We have made an application for Riccardo Moretti to take over from the next race this weekend at Mugello.
Riccardo rides for us in the Italian Championship, has grand prix experience and is well placed to help develop our bike.
”Besides the Moto3 GP riders, Moretti will also find his CIV rival Kevin Calia at Mugello.

The Elle2 – Ciatti Racing Team has gotten a wildcard entry for the standings leader and he’ll be riding an updated Honda NSF250R.
