Milan, a city going upwards

Architecturally speaking, compared to the more modern cities of the world throughout America and Asia, Europe can be noted for the flatness of its cities: less skyscrapers whereby hiking up the Eiffel Tower really does give you a good view and not just of the roofs of surrounding office blocks.

But Milan is apparently due for a face lift – one never before seen since the post-war period that is likely to radically change some areas of the city.
At the Urban Center in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, there is an exhibtion titled “Milano la città che sale“.
That’s right, Milan is going up and the exhibition is full of information and models on the city’s new skyscrapers.
There are many new examples from City Life to the Art Tower and so on.
The models are placed in the context of their surrounding areas, including captions and explanations.
Entry is free and in about 20 minutes its gives you an idea of what the Milan of tomorrow will be like.
