Ex-Riverdance and Lord of the Dance celebrity, Michael Flatley has introduced his own brand of Irish whiskey, known as “Flatley Irish whiskey” and also referred to as “The Dreamer”. This venture has been undertaken in association with experienced blender Noel Sweeney. The whiskey is prepared at the Great Northern Distillery in Co Louth, which belongs to the Teeling family.
Flatley, a seasoned Irish whiskey connoisseur, uses his family crest to decorate each whiskey bottle as a tribute to his late father. The whiskey is predicted to debut in the United States later this summer, followed by a global launch in 2025.
Flatley explained that his love for Irish whiskey was an inheritance from his father. He is overjoyed about the launch of Flatley Irish whiskey, confident that his father will be proudly looking upon him. He engaged an expert team led by industry-renowned CEO Jim Clerkin, master blender Noel Sweeney, and Pierrick Bouquet, who has been instrumental in launching various successful international wine and spirits brands.
Mr Sweeney, previously associated with the Cooley Distillery and Powerscourt Distillery, shared that the five-year-old triple-cask blend fuses grain whiskey and double-distilled malt matured in ex-bourbon, port, and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
Flatley Whiskey has struck a distribution agreement with Dalcassian Wines and Spirits distributing the whiskey to bars, hotels, and independent shops across Ireland. Supermarket chain SuperValu is also marketing the whiskey in over 175 of its stores nationally, with a suggested retail price of €45.
