Mercedes CLA 45 AMG Edition 1Although Mercedes-Benz hasn’t made a big noise about the arrival of the CLA 45 AMG Edition 1, it’s a car worth shouting about.
The Edition 1 is marked out from other CLA 45s with a gloss black spoiler at the rear, matte black 19-inch alloys and red markings on the mirrors, wheels and grille.
You’ll also find ‘Edition 1′ badges scattered throughout the car.
Inside there are limited changes, but you get Artico/Dinamica sports seats, a steering wheel wrapped in leather/Dinamica with red stitching, and an Artico dashboard.
AMG floor mats are also part of the luxurious yet sporty interior package.
As with the standard car, this edition has a 2.
0 litre turbo engine that’s mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch ‘box and driven through to all four wheels thanks to the Mercedes 4MATIC 4WD system.
You can expect a 0-62mph time of 4.
6 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph from the four-cylinder motor that produces 355bhp, 332 lb-ft of torque and 161g/km of CO2.
The CLA range goes on sale this autumn.
Although the German car maker hasn’t announced prices, we’re expecting Mercedes salesmen to ask for £40,000 plus for the CLA 45 AMG, and a few thousand more for the Edition 1.
Whatever the price, we don’t think Mercedes are going to have too much trouble shifting this car when it comes on to the market.
