Mercedes-Benz live @ 2012 Paris Motor Show

The MercedesBenz’s stall at the 2012 Paris Motor Show presents quite a few new models, namely the production version of the Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive, the Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive and the Mercedes B 200 Natural Gas Drive – which is basically the B-Class running on methane – plus the already known Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake.

The Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive will be the first all-electric supercar to enter the market and will be offered at 416,500 €.
The performance figures of this green beast are nothing short of outstanding: 552 kW of power (that’s 740 hp for you) and a peak torque of 1,000 Nm (740 ft-lb) will have this beast going from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.
9 seconds.
The SLS AMG Electric Drive is the fastest all-electric production car in the world, and will be delivered to the 3-pointed star dealers across the world early next year.
This model is obviously of crucial importance for the whole automotive world, and we will talk about it again soon in a dedicated post.
The B200 Natural Gas Drive uses 3 gas cylinders placed under the floor: two smaller ones underneath the driver’s seat and a larger one under the rear bench, a move that allows it to offer the same interior space and carrying capacity of its gasoline counterpart.

The model is powered by a 1.
6-liter 4-cylinder unit delivering 156 hp and 270 Nm of torque, goes from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 9.
1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph).
The new B-Class methane is already Euro6-approved and consumes 4.
2 kilograms of natural gas per 100 km emitting 115 g/km of CO2, and boasts 500 km (310 miles) of full autonomy.
The Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive is a concept that uses an electric motor credited with an output of 100 kW and 310 Nm.
This unit is coupled with lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged with a voltage of 230 or 400 V, and can provide the car with more than 200 km (124 miles) of range.
The final road version of this car should appear at some point in 2014, and we bet these figures will be different by then.
Also making an appearance at the Mercedes stand in Paris is the SLS AMG GT, equipped with AMG’s awesome 591 hp 63 M159 V8 unit, that will be made available as a coupe – with the flashy gullwing doors – or as a roadster with soft top.
The new Mercedes A-Class surely could not miss out on the important French event, and it was one of tha main topics at the press conference held by mainman Dieter Zetsche, which took the Eiffel Tower as an example calling it the largest “A” in the world.
as you can see in the pictures of the gallery.
On stage at the Mercedes stall there is also the last born of the house, the Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake.
