The company itself said in a press that the two “will host and produce podcasts that build community through shared experience, narratives, and values”. At the same time, Harry and Meghan are thrilled with this project. They said in a statement: “What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction”. They also added that earing each other’s stories in this difficult period is very important, because they remind us that we are all interconnected.
Archewell Audio’s partnership with Spotify includes numerous programs. In particular, a holiday special hosted by the couple will be released later this month. Moreover, their first series will debut next year and all projects will be available exclusively on Spotify.
A trailer of Archewell Audio is available on the streaming service. It is accompanied by a short description which quotes: “Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, present Archewell Audio.”
The break with the royal family
In January, Harry and Meghan announced they were stepping back from their roles as senior members of the British royal family. From that moment, the couple became “financially independent“. However, they pointed out they will continue “to uphold the values of Her Majesty.”
After the break, the couple moved to Southern California with their infant son Archie. Meghan started building a portfolio of startup investments. In September, they signed an exclusive multi-year production deal for TV programming with Netflix. Moreover, Meghan also narrated the documentary “Elephants” on Disney+.
