Kieran McGeeney is set to continue in his role as the Armagh senior football manager in 2025. In a meeting that took place on Tuesday night, delegates expressed unanimous support for McGeeney’s ongoing leadership, marking his 11th year as the head of the Orchard County team. A critical factor in this decision was McGeeney’s successful guidance of Armagh to victory in the All-Ireland championship earlier in July.
“Kieran McGeeney has the full backing of the County Committee and will remain as the Senior County Football Manager for the 2025 season along with his support team,” confirmed Armagh GAA.
The previous year, McGeeney’s role was under scrutiny, leading to a vote by the club delegates. Though he managed to retain his position, the uncertainty cast a shadow over the team’s activities throughout the 2024 season.
However, the Armagh team prevailed, guided by McGeeney, the players clinched the Sam Maguire trophy for only the second time in the county’s history, effectively setting the tone for the year.
