“Mbappé’s Debut Goal Secures Super Cup”

In his first competitive match for Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé found the net, helping the team to a 2-0 victory over Atalanta and securing the Uefa Super Cup in Warsaw. Mbappé’s transfer from Paris St Germain to Real Madrid in June was free of charge, given that his PSG contract had ended. His goal, a fierce strike resulting from a Jude Bellingham assist, extended Real’s lead which had been initiated by Federico Valverde in the second half.

Real Madrid had previously defeated Borussia Dortmund with the same scoreline in the Champions League final in June. This latest triumph over Atalanta, the Europa League winners, at the Narodowy Stadium, means they now have a record six Super Cup victories to their name.

Both teams had chances to score in a competitive first half, with shots from Atalanta and Madrid hitting the bar. Real’s Eder Militao narrowly avoided scoring an own goal from Marten de Roon’s cross and Rodrygo, the Brazilian forward, also struck the bar when shooting from within the penalty box.

Thibaut Courtois gallantly blocked Mario Pasalic’s header for Atalanta in the second half, maintaining Real’s lead. Real decisively took control of the match when Vinicius Junior fantastically set up Valverde for his goal in the 59th minute. Juan Musso, Atalanta’s goalkeeper, was kept busy defending strikes from both Junior and Bellingham.

Real Madrid fortified their 2-0 lead in the 69th minute when Bellingham set up Mbappé, and they successfully maintained their position to the end of the match.
