Kylian Mbappé, the forward of Paris Saint-Germain, has publicised his decision to depart from the club when this season concludes, ending persistent rumours regarding his career progression. The local of Paris made a public declaration on social media platforms about his choice of not renewing his contract with his current club, where he has been since 2017.

“As the weeks tick by, my journey here is drawing to a close,” expressed Mbappé. “My final game will be hosted at Parc de Princes, which brings a whirlwind of emotions. I have been lucky enough to be part of this premier French club for so many memorable years.”

Announcing his departure, he shared, “It is undoubtedly tough, and I didn’t envision it to be such a difficult task to announce my leave from my home country, France, and its top-tier football league, the Ligue 1. However, after a seven-year experience, I feel the need for a new challenge.”

At just the age of 25, Mbappé has scored a record 255 goals in his 306 matches, making him PSG’s all-time highest scorer. He has also been honoured with the Ligue 1 Player of the Year title a remarkable four times and has ended as the leading scorer of Ligue 1 five times, equalling the all-time record.

The star, who was part of the victorious 2018 World Cup team, is believed to be joining Real Madrid in the coming summer, a club which has shown keen interest in him for several years.
