“Mayo Refugee Centre Fire Incident”

On Sunday morning, an International Protection centre in Co Mayo is the site of a fire incident, currently being investigated by both police and fire teams. Luckily, there have not been any reported injuries from this incident, and the fire that broke out during breakfast hours has been effectively managed.

The vicinity has been restricted and only the residents of the nearby Breaffy Woods complex have been permitted access. Its neighbouring establishment, the Breaffy House Hotel, was not impacted by the fire.

Further information about the circumstances surrounding this incident is pending further investigation from the Gardaí. Updating of news will follow suit.
