Marco Melandri worried about shoulder fitness

Ever since his crash during race 1 at Portimao last September that sent him to the hospital with a suspected kidney injury and then kept him out of race 2, Marco Melandri has been nursing a nagging shoulder injury that is still worrying him as he confided to his Twitter followers.
The Italian rider has been undergoing regular physiotherapy sessions along with his pre-season training, but apparently the pain to his shoulder has still hasn’t completely let up, so his BMW Italia team has organized a fitness test for their star rider tomorrow, January 16th at the Binetto circuit located in the Puglia region in the South of Italy, even though the weather is expected to be cold and wet.

The 2013 World Superbike championship kicks off next month at Phillip Island and Melandri has a little more than a month to get back into shape before the season starts.
