Marc Marquez suffers ligament damage, but does not require surgery

While Andrea Iannone is still in pain a month after dislocating his shoulder that also involved ligament damage during practice at Sachsenring that not only ruled him out of the German GP, but also the Laguna Seca round, Marc Marquez who also suffered a dislocated shoulder at Silverstone, not only rode the race he also risked winning it in an epic last lap battle against Jorge Lorenzo.

Marquez underwent futher medical tests today at the the Quiron Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona and was diagnosed with minor ligament damage, however he will not require surgery.
The standings leader – he has a 30 point advantage over Dani Pedrosa – was caught out on a bump at Vale corner during the warm-up practice on Sunday morning.
Marquez will have ten days to recover from his injury before the Misano GP, September 13-15.
