Marc Marquez storms to 6th pole of Moto2 season at Aragon

Moto2 title contender Marc Marquez is on the roll as he stormed to his 6th pole position of the season (the 5th in the last 7 races) in today’s qualifying session at Aragon.
Marquez, who many say is already using Suter’s 2012 chassis (which will no doubt cause a lot of rumbles among the other Suter riders) also debuted a new swingarm.

The Spaniard’s 1.
53.
296 blitzed Andrea Iannone’s 2010 pole position record by over two seconds, and left the rest of the numerous Moto2 field gasping and unable even to get close to his lap time.
Julian Simon took second and then ended the session with a high speed crash at turn 13, and 0.
684s off Marquez’s pole setting lap, while Scott Redding took third, just 0.
024s from Simon, making it an all Suter front row.
Championship leader Stefan Bradl will start in fourth and will try to keep that 23 point lead that he has over Marquez, but he was 0.
779s off pace.
Next to Bradl on the second row will be two former MotoGP riders, Alex de Angelis and Aleix Espargaro.

Jules Cluzel qualified 7th with a tow from Marquez and Pol Espargaro will start in 8th, followed by Mika Kallio and Andrea Iannone in 10th.
Elena Rosell who is making her second wildcard appearance in Moto2 for Aspar actually qualified for tomorrow’s race.
She’s last on the grid in 39th and 5.
5 seconds off pace, not exactly a pace setter, but enough to let her continue in the Moto2 CEV championship.
