Marc Godart’s letting agency confesses to violating fire safety regulations at their Dublin premises

A company under the management of contentious landlord Marc Godart has admitted to breaching fire safety laws in a property it leases for short-term lodging purposes, in the Dublin District Court. The counsel for Dublin City Council, Christopher Hughes, agreed to barrister Stephen Wilson’s request to have the defendant name changed from Green Label Property Investments Ltd to Green Label Short Lets Ltd. The judge, Anthony Halpin, modified the charges as requested.

Wilson revealed the company was admitting guilt and suggested for the issue to be suspended for sentencing till the 26th of March. Judge Halpin postponed the case to the specified date for “facts and mitigation”.

The charges pertained to a potentially hazardous building located at Unit 1, Block G, The Foundry, Beaver Street, Dublin 1. The company neglected to adhere to a fire safety notice issued on the 29th of June the previous year. This neglect stands in violation of the Fire Services Act 1981.

It’s been disclosed how harshly landlord Marc Godart operates his business. Godart has claimed that all Irish revenue must be remitted to Luxembourg, as this motion aligns with the family’s corporate structure.
