Manchester United To Sack Ten Hag

Manchester United have opted to dismiss Erik ten Hag following the FA Cup final against Manchester City, according to insider sources. Ten Hag, who started his tenure at the club two years prior, will leave after an embattled season. The club, following the recent Premier League campaign, have found themselves in their worst league position since 1990, landing in eighth place. Now, their chances of making it to Europe hinge on a victory against City at Wembley this coming Saturday.

Even a triumph in the FA Cup may not secure Ten Hag’s position. The choice to shift managers is perceived to accompany Jim Ratcliffe’s most momentous decision since obtaining a minority stake in Ineos, and assuming control of football operations.

In the search of Ten Hag’s successor, United have listed Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Kieran McKenna, Graham Potter, and Thomas Frank as possible appointments. Despite capturing the Carabao Cup and coming third in the previous season, Ten Hag’s tenure has been marked by underperformance from his recruits, and an inability to build upon his initial success.

United withheld comment when the Guardian sought their input on the matter.
