The authorities are looking into the demise of a man in his mid-forties in Lucan, Dublin County, which took place on Monday morning. The gentleman was discovered deceased following an event at a dwelling in Old Bridge Park around 8am on the same day. A young man in his 20s is in custody at a police station in the western region of Dublin.
Preservation of the site has been put in place for forensics and technical assessment, and preparations for a postmortem have also been made. A Senior Investigating Officer has been designated to oversee the probe and a base for incident analysis has been set up at the police station in Lucan. The family of the deceased will soon have a Family Liaison Officer for their support.
