Man Dies in Dublin Car-Truck Collision

A deadly crash between a lorry and a car in Co Dublin, along the westbound N7 between Junction 4 and 5, claimed the life of a man in his 30s. The disturbing incident happened at 9 o’clock in the morning on Saturday. The male occupant of the car tragically lost his life at the crash site. The vehicle’s driver was also given medical attention for injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

The site of the accident, located near Rathcoole, has been temporarily sealed off to facilitate a thorough investigation by officials from the Garda Forensic Collision team. In order to manage the resulting traffic congestion and reported tailbacks in the area, local detours have been initiated. Motorists have been warned to anticipate traffic slowdowns and tailbacks in the vicinity of Rathcoole.

As a direct result of the fatal accident, the N27 westbound has been closed off between Junctions 4 and 5. Vehicles travelling southbound are leaving the road just before reaching Junction 4 at White House Lane, and are being granted re-entry to the road post Junction 5.

The Gardaí have issued an appeal for any potential eyewitnesses of the tragic collision to step forward. Furthermore, any motorists who were in the area during the incident and possess video footage — including dash-cam recordings— have been asked to provide this to the investigating Gardaí. Individuals who can offer any pertinent information are encouraged to reach out to either the Clondalkin Garda Station at 01 6667600, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any other Garda station.
