Man Arrested for Dublin Assault

Following a grave incident in the Clonshaugh neighbourhood of Dublin, where a woman in her 30s was allegedly assaulted in her own home, a suspect was apprehended. Local authorities from Coolock are rigorously examining all aspects related to the case which unfolded in a private residence in Dublin 17 early on Saturday, around 00:25am.

Following alerts from concerned residents in the nearest proximity, emergency services, including the Gardaí, arrived on scene. The victim was discovered with severe injuries and was rapidly transported to Beaumont Hospital where she currently battles with her critical condition.

The Gardaí have affirmed that a man in his 40s is under arrest as a result of subsequent investigations. He is being held under the purview of section four of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a police station in northern Dublin. As per the stipulations of said Act, the man can be kept in custody without charge for up to 12 hours.

Investigations from the Garda are still in progress.
