Authorities have apprehended a male suspect, believed to be in his 40s, following an episode of gunfire directed at a dwelling within the Acha Bhile housing estate situated in Ennis, County Clare. The gunfire, reported to have occurred at approximately 10:10pm, resulted in no injuries being reported.
The arrest occurred under the authority of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939, details supplied by the Clare local police service. According to them, it took place on the Lahinch Road in a populated neighbourhood last Friday night.
In a bid to gather more information, the local authorities are urging anybody who was present around Acha Bhile residential vicinity last Friday night between 9:30pm and 10:30pm, to come forth as a potential witness. This request also includes road users who might have been passing through Lahinch Road and adjoining areas and noticed abnormal activities during these specified hours, to contact them.
Those who were capable of recording the episode, including those with dashcam footage, are encouraged by the police to share these materials.
