Man Arrested: €2.1m Cocaine Seized

A male individual was apprehended as authorities seized cocaine estimated to be worth €2.1 million in Rosslare, County Wexford, this past Thursday. The seizure that resulted in approximately 30kg of cocaine was a successful joint venture between the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Wexford Divisional Drugs Unit, and the Revenue Customs Service. The man, who is in his 50s, was detained in a southeastern Garda station pursuant to section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, after the drug bust. The Gardaí have indicated that further investigations are presently underway.

This incident marks the latest in a series of significant drug retrievals by the Gardaí in the preceding months. In a previous instance, cocaine estimated at €7 million was uncovered at a farm in Knockadock, Kilmuckridge, County Wexford, last month. Furthermore, during the initial week of September, drugs, namely cocaine and cannabis collectively valued at over €3 million, were confiscated at Dublin Airport.
