Man arrested after Dublin barricade

A male in his thirties has been apprehended following a barricade incident at a residence in Southern Dublin. The police initiated their Operation Command protocol by appointing a commander at the scene. Garda negotiators from the National Unit, as well as numerous other units, were present at the incident on Rathmines Road Lower on a recent Thursday morning. A perimeter was quickly established, with the situation resolving just after noon, following negotiation efforts. The individual in question was subsequently detained at the scene in connection with ongoing inquiries into offences allegedly committed under the Non Fatal Offences Against The Person Act. He remains in custody at a Dublin Garda station. Traffic movement has resumed on the road post incident and investigations into the matter are continuing according to the Garda.
