Man Arrested After Carlow Crash

A man in his 20s was detained following an episode in Co Carlow where a car collided with numerous Garda vehicles, causing injuries to four officers. Gardaí reported that charges were filed against the man.

The event took place around 9pm on Saturday on O’Brien Street in Carlow where Gardaí tried to pull over a vehicle. According to a spokesperson, the vehicle didn’t comply and drove recklessly, colliding with several Garda vehicles before being successfully stopped a bit later.

The motorist, a young man, was apprehended under the Road Traffic Acts and taken to a Garda station in Co Carlow. The other passengers in the car were not harmed. Following the episode, the four injured Gardaí were transferred to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny for medical checks where they were tended to for non-critical wounds.
