Man, 21, in court for mother’s murder

A 21-year-old man, Nathan Simpson, was presented in court, accused of the murder of his mother in Belfast. The address of the accused is Castlereagh Road, and he stood before Belfast Magistrates’ Court this past Monday. The incident in question unfolded over the weekend, when his mother, Rachel Simpson, aged 43, was found dead in a garage belonging to a Castlereagh Road property. According to a detective sergeant from PSNI, there is evidence linking Nathan Simpson to the murder charges. Once the charge was read, Simpson confirmed his understanding of it, responding: “Yes, your honour.” There were no attempts made to request bail, resulting in Simpson remaining in custody until his next court appearance on October 14th.
