Lowry, McIlroy Two Shots Behind Lead

Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy, the duo from Ireland, trail the leaders by two shots as they step into the last day of the Zurich Classic in New Orleans. Initially leading the first two rounds, they lost pace with Patrick Fishburn and Zac Blair from America who hit a remarkable 12 under par 60, securing the superior position on 23 under par.
Lowry and McIlroy performed impeccably in the best ball round, achieving eight birdies, yet they were surpassed by the American pair’s tally of 10 birdies and one eagle. This positioned the American pair ahead of everyone else, leaving team Luke List and Henrik Norlander trailing by one shot.
Post-game, McIlroy commented on the challenging day even though they concluded with 21 under par. He reflected that achieving birdies was somewhat more challenging in comparison to their performance on Thursday in the superior-ball format. He added that they had to maintain patience in anticipation of opportunities especially on the back nine.
Sharing the third spot along with Lowry and McIlroy, is the pair of Ryan Brehm and Mark Hubbard. Participants can anticipate challenging breezy weather conditions for the final day at TPC Louisiana, and the alternate format will be in play. The Irish duo, Lowry and McIlroy, are set to tee off at 6:44 pm Irish time.
