Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss, mentioned that Russia invasion of Ukraine is “highly likely”. It might be undertaken as soon as Wednesday. She also cautioned about the “false flag” procedure. It came after a top Russian diplomat lifted the threat of an attack on Ukraine if Russian citizens are killed in a region of the country controlled by separatists.
Liz Truss: Russia is highly likely to invade Ukraine
Ms Truss stated, “What we are doing is seeking the passage of deterrence and diplomacy, suggesting Vladimir Putin to step back from the threshold.”
She also claimed that the government was equipped for the worst. That is the reason why they instructed Britons to exit Ukraine yet support the Ukrainian economy.
“We know that the Russians are ready to invade.” The UK urged them to stop a movement that would be fatal for Russia and Putin’s fate as well as fatal to the people of Ukraine, added her.
Russia declared its forced return to their bases
Russian stated media reported that Russia’s Southern military district declared on Tuesday its forces had started withdrawing and returning to their bases. It came after conducting exercises on the Crimean peninsula, which Russia took from Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Russian financial markets increased enormously on Tuesday as German Chancellor Olaf Scholz flew into Moscow for discussions with President Vladimir Putin. They had eleventh-hour talks to attempt to prevent war.
Russia will not invade unless they get a provocation
Earlier Vladimir Chizhov, the Russian delegate to the European Union declared, “We will not invade Ukraine unless we are urged to do that.”
He also added if Ukrainians establish an attack against Russia, we might counterattack. Or, if they start blatantly killing Russian citizens anywhere or wherever.
