“Limerick vs Cork Semi-Final Sold Out”

Officials from Croke Park have indicated that the All-Ireland senior hurling championship semi-final, contested between Limerick and Cork on Sunday, is expected to witness a packed stadium. The remaining tickets for the public available on Ticketmaster as of Wednesday afternoon were only those for standing at Hill 16 or the Nally Terrace. GAA executives predict that Saturday’s semi-final between Kilkenny and Clare kicking off at 3pm will pull in a crowd of about 35,000-40,000. However, the all-Munster clash on Sunday starting at 4pm is anticipated to pull in the largest crowd of the season thus far, at Croke Park which has a capacity of 82,300. “The semi-final Limerick-Cork has garnered huge interest, it seems we’re nearing a sell-out for Sunday,” a GAA spokesperson commented. Previous the hurling semi-finals, All-Ireland camogie quarter-finals will take place. Kilkenny is set to play against Dublin on Saturday at 12.30, and Galway will compete with Waterford on Sunday at 1.30.
