The local Argentine paper, La Nacion, reported on Wednesday that ex-One Direction member, Liam Payne, has tragically passed away at a Buenos Aires hotel. The 31-year-old UK artist met his untimely demise after a fall from the third floor of the hotel, as verified by emergency services.
Alberto Crescenti, the state emergency medical system’s leader confirmed on the channel Todo Noticias TV in Argentina, that Payne ended up in Casa Sur Hotel’s courtyard, located in the Palermo district of Argentina’s capital, as reported by AP.
Payne, along with Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles, made up the original ensemble of the globally renowned boy band One Direction, established in 2010. After producing five hit albums and embarking on four world tours, the band has been on a break since 2016.
Payne had started his solo career, and in December 2019, he launched his first solo album LP1, which brought to life singles such as Familiar and Polaroid. Payne’s son Bear was born in 2017 with Cheryl, a member of Girls Aloud, with whom he shared an infamous romance from 2016 until 2018.
In response to his demise, Paris Hilton, the socialite, expressed her heartache on X, offering her “deepest sympathies” to his loved ones and friends. Jedward, an ex X Factor pair who began their career on the same reality show as One Direction, also paid their respects to Payne on X. They extended their “support to Cheryl, his son Bear and the entire One Direction community”. – Thomson Reuters – PA
