“Let’s give round of applause for our green paths”

In response to the letter titled “How green are greenways?” published on March 18th, I want to express my views. To facilitate interaction with nature within city limits for varied individuals such as pedestrians, parents with strollers, those who need walking aids, and wheelchair-users, it seems only fair to consider the provision of tarmac pathways. In addition, should we wish to ensure safety and enhance feelings of security, installing lighting for night-time use would be beneficial. That being said, there exist vast expanses of untouched rural land outside our cities for those seeking a wilderness experience. It’s evident one cannot satisfy everyone’s preferences all the time.

Yours faithfully,

David Curran
