Referring to the opinion piece by Una Mullally titled “Don’t shut down 2FM – just resolve its purpose and audience” dated May 27th, it is appropriate to consider artificial intelligence (AI) driven DJs as a feasible solution amidst the growing departure of so-called talent from 2FM. This would not only result in a cost saving for RTÉ, but there is also a reasonable assumption that such AI DJs wouldn’t plug their self-serving ‘influencer’ projects beyond the radio station.
