Leitrim Hires Poacher After Graham

Leitrim GAA announced the induction of Steven Poacher, originally from Down, as the senior manager for Leitrim, starting in 2025. This follows the departure of Mickey Graham, who resigned from his managerial post prematurely this October, only two months after replacing Andy Moran. The former manager of Cavan cited uncontrollable situations as the reason for his sudden departure from the bench.

Following his departure, Graham joined Pádraic Joyce’s coaching support team, a statement released by Galway GAA confirmed. The notice affirmed Joyce’s extended tenure as Galway manager through 2026.

Prior to this appointment, Poacher had gained intercounty experience with Carlow and Roscommon, coupled with his involvement in youth intercounty levels in his home county.

Joining the Leitrim team as trainers are Anthony McGrath and Daniel St Ledger, who will assist Ryan Jones. Speaking about the new appointment, Leitrim GAA stated, “Steven is a highly-regarded coach in the game. We are keen to collaborate with Steven as we commence preparations for the ensuing season.”
