Lane splitting Brazilian style (w/video)

Lane splitting is a way of life for motorycle and scooter riders in Italy, it not only saves money, and considering the extraordinary high gas prices in Italy it also makes a whole lot of sense for your wallet, but it also saves time so you can get on with the more enjoyable things in life, like just riding your bike for the pure unadulterated pleasure.

Lane splitting however can be dangerous, because you can’t always predict what the car driver that you’re passing is going to decide do, like opening his door to step out and see what the hold up is (seen it happen and the consequences), but this Brazilian rider in the video takes the 1st prize in filtering, looking more like Marc Marquez during the final round at Valencia, with the speed that he’s going at than what should be a commute in still flowing traffic.
If you’re really interested in learning how to lane split safely we suggest your read this article in HFL, that is for American riders, but the basics can be applied to riding in any other country.
