The Kevin Sheehy murder case, which took place in County Limerick in July 2019, has witnessed a recent development with the arrest of a female suspect. Sheehy, a highly respected boxer aged 20, was brutally murdered while he was heading home on Hyde Road, Limerick. He was repeatedly run over by a 4×4 vehicle in a ruthless assault. The multiple injuries inflicted on the five-times national boxing champion, included a severe skull fracture which led to his untimely death.
The primary suspect in the case, Logan Jackson, hailing from Longford Road, Coventry and in his 30s, received a life sentence for the crime in December 2021.
On 2nd September 2024, gardaí took another step in their in-depth investigation by apprehending a woman in her 30s. This arrest was conducted under the guidelines provided by Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. Currently, she is being held at a police station in Southern Ireland. Law enforcement agencies have shared that the investigation into the Sheehy murder remains active.
