The Princess of Wales, known formally as Catherine but colloquially as Kate Middleton, personally extended her apologies about the confusion surrounding the edited family photo that had been released by Kensington Palace. She disclosed in a statement posted on social media that she had edited the picture just as many amateur photographers do. Catherine expressed her regret for the confusion the photograph, which was shared the previous day, may have caused. The photo was taken by the Prince of Wales and was the first to be released following Catherine’s abdominal surgery. It was issued by the Palace to commemorate Mother’s Day. However, suspicions of manipulation led to its removal with a “kill” notice by global picture agencies a few hours later, including the British PA news agency.
