Karel Abraham had to withdrawn from the Sepang II test following a painful left shoulder injury that he sustained when he crashed out on an oil spill at the Jerez track during the private test session that the Ducati test team had organized at the Spanish track.
The Czech rider was unsure if he had fractured shoulder during the Jerez test, but apparently follow-up exams post Sepang didn’t reveal any breaks and he is now almost 100% fit for final pre-season MotoGP test at Jerez at the end of next week.
Taking part in last week’s International Motosalon Show in Brno, where three of his former racing bikes were on display – the Ducati Desmosedici GP11, the FTR Moto M210 and the 2006 Aprilia RSV 125 – Abraham said, “Missing out on the Sepang test was a real pity, but the good news is that the shoulder is getting better day after day, and I’m almost 100% fit for the next test at Jerez.
We will have to take advantage of all the time available because with respect to the other riders, we’re three days behind in testing the 1000cc.
”
