One of the chief attractions of Jesolo during the upcoming holiday season will be the sand nativity scene; yes, you guessed right, the famous nativity scene entirely made of sand which every year attracts people from all over the world! The 2008 scene has been created by a group of eight artists which includes Damon Farmer, Ray Villafane and Daniel Belcher, Russians Pavel Zadanyuk and Alexey Schictov, Dutch artist Lars Borst, Mark Anderson of England and Czech artist Raded Zivney and Richard Varano.
Sprawling over 360 square metres, the Nativity scene was built with 8 tons of sand and the artists who took part in this project succeeded in creating a series of beautiful scenes such as The Journey to Bethlehem; The Annunciation; No Room at the Inn; The Angel and the Shepherds; Joseph’s Dream; The Visitation; The Birth of Jesus and The Three Wise Men.
The Sand Scene Nativity can be visited daily from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm Saturdays and holidays until 10:00 pm.
