Jerez GP in doubt again?

Of the four Spanish GPs on the calendar, the one at Jerez de la Frontera is probably the most loved by fans, so it will be another blow to hear that the 2012 GP at the highly popular venue may be once again in doubt.
Last season the dire financial problems the Spanish circuit had put the Spanish GP in doubt, but in March the Tourism and Sports Board of the Andalucian government stepped and saved the day and the future of MotoGP racing until the year 2016.

However the 2012 provisional calendar has Jerez still to be confirmed and the contract is still pending, infact if you try ordering tickets for the April 29th event you’ll get that the response that Spanish website Todocircuito.
com got, the race has yet to be officially confirmed.
The Jerez circuit is currently 45 milion euros in debt and in late October the circuit management passed from Cirjesawho has been running the circuit since 1996 to the city.
While mayor María José García-Pelayo (People’s Party) has assured everyone that the 2012 Jerez GP is still a go, Dorna is still waiting to receive 6 million euros in sanction fees with promises of payment from the city, but with overwhelming economic problems, spending cuts and sky rocketing unemployment it will be hard to explain to voters why it is necessary to open the city’s coffers for a motorcycle race, despite the fact that hosting the event brings in an injection of fresh money to the local economy,
