Ivan Silva fastest in mixed conditions during FP2 at Sepang

After the usual and intense Malaysian rain shower that halted Moto3 proceedings ten minutes before the end of the session, MotoGP’s second free practice started wet, but with the sun peeking through the grey clouds.
Some of riders did an outlap and then returned to their pit garages waiting for the track conditions to improve, others didn’t even turn a wheel, saving on engine mileage (but with next year’s new qualifying format this should no longer happen) while others stayed out in the mixed conditions as the dampness began to slowly evaporate, leaving only two corners still wet.

In this useless session where only 13 riders recorded officials laps, the fastest rider was Avintia Blusens Ivan Silva who hit the top of the timesheets in 2’10″602 followed by Gresini’s Michele Pirro, Randy de Puniet, Roberto Rolfo.
