It’s been a great race book, just like the Pirelli calendar

If you thought that the love fest between Valentino Rossi and Yamaha was over and done with, and the Japanese manufacturer had moved on to bigger and better things with Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies, you can forget it.
Yamaha has commissioned Gigi Soldano, one of MotoGP’s best known photographers, to put together some of his best photos in a book called “It’s been a great race” to celebrate and remember Valentino’s seven glorious years on the Yamaha M1.

This limited edition coffee table book won’t be available in bookstores and will be going only to a select few, just like Pirelli’s famous calendar.
However to allow some ‘lowly’ fans to feast their eyes on some of the photos, Soldano will be hosting an exhibition at the Space Lavit in Varese on March 5th.
On display will be 50 black and white images taken from the seven chapter book on one of MotoGP’s greatest riders and personalities.
