Italy’s agricultural minister presents McItaly: the McDonald’s Italian burger

It was none other than the Italian minister for Agriculture who presented the McItaly burger to the public.
The McItaly has been developed exclusively for the Italian market and is designed to contribute to promoting traditional Italian products.
The McItaly was presented in Italy’s premier McDonald’s location, at the Spanish Steps in Rome.

The minister, Luca Zaia, even demonstrated his culinary skills in the preparation of the burger, stating that a global network like McDonald’s is a good opportunity for Italian farmers.
The McItaly burger is made with 100 percent Italian products including meat, extravirgin olive oil, Asiago DOP cheese, Bresaola cold cut meat from the Valtellina, pancetta bacon from the Val Venosta, wheat, Tropea onions and Roman artichokes.
The burger will be a limited edition for a month and in total 1,000 tonnes of Italian meat will be used contributing to 3.
5 million euros of product.
All sponsored by the ministry in the hope that the product will come back again as a limited edition, or be used overseas, too.
