Italian wines: the best rosé can be found in Apulia

Wine-lovers make a note in your diaries: for a whole week the old town of Ceglie Messapica near Brindisi, will be hosting an important wine festival called Rosati in Terra di Rosati or Rosé in the land of The Rosé and entirely devoted to rosé wines.
For years wine experts rather snobbishly looked down upon the rosé, but now that elitist view has changed, hopefully for good now that consumers and experts alike have discovered the superb quality of this exquisite variety of wine.

The festival will take place in Apulia from 26 July to 6 August; and many other towns ( including those in the Salento region) will take part in the event.
A jury which comprises: sommeliers, experts and wine lovers (a passion for wine is central to this festival) will chose the best rosé of 2008 and on 2nd of August, will deliver the prizes at the Relais La Fontanina, a beautiful country house recently restored.
