Italian vintage car events: the driver, the poet and the tortoise celebrates Tazio Nuvolari

“Il Pilota, il Poeta e la Tartaruga” or “The driver, the poet and the tortoise” is an international vintage car event dedicated to the friendship between Italy’s great grand prix driver, Tazio Nuvolari and poet, Gabriele D’Annunzio.
The vintage car event will take place from April 16 to 19 between Lake Garda and Mantova.

The event was established in 2007 by the Historic Racing Club to celebrate the friendly relationship between these two historic Italian characters, while racing, passing time in moments of conviviality and touring the Italian countryside.
The particpants, Italians and international visitors, can race with cars manufactured prior to 1963.
The itinerary includes 300 km, covered in three days, passing through Salò, Sirmione (on Lake Garda) and Mantua, reaching Castel d’Ario, birthplace of Nuvolari, where the public will have a chance to view the vintage cars.
