Italian ski season begins: Passo Tonale ski resort in Italy opens its slopes

We thought we’d update you on the Italian ski resort situation in case you want an early weekend deal for skiing in Italy as it’s currently snowing outside my window as I write.
The “Passo Tonaleski resort is already open for business.
The Tonale is situated between Lombardy and Trentino, and after 20 centimetres of snow, more today and the snow cannons working, it’s looking good as an early season option.

The Presena glacier opens today after snow on Pontedilegno and Temù, and this marks the beginning of the snow season in this part of Italy.
The Tonale Pass is a natural amphiteatre between the Val di Sole and the Vallecamonica, and runs from 1,884 metres to 3,100 metres.
For more information on this Italian ski resort, including slopes, ski passes and accommodation, see the official Passo Tonale site.
