This weekend is the last chance this summer opening season in Italy, to see the Royal Palace of Caserta, Italy’s version of Versailles.
The summer tour of the palace includes a guided tour of the Italian palace gardens, a bus drive to the fountain of Diana, and then a tour to the English Garden.
By candlelight the esoteric and Masonic secrets surrounding the creation of this garden in Italy are related, retelling the history of Maria Carolina of Bourbon.
The Royal Palace of Caserta is open to the public in winter as well, with shortened opening times, for visitors to tour the historic apartments, rooms and gardens.
For information on opening times and ticket prices, see the Reggia di Caserta site for full details.
