Italian music: Giorgia’s new style with “Per Fare A Meno Di Te”

Our colleagues at Soundsblog.
it have lamented the disappearance of Italian female singer Giorgia’s more individual style.
The golden era of Giorgia’s career is perhaps characterised by songs such as Vivi Davvero, and Marzo, but those times seem gone now that Giorgia has adapted a style that is less risky, but more likely to please a mass audience.

She hit more international fame with the song “Gocce di memoria” from the film “La finestra di fronte” or “Facing Window”.
Giorgia has always been known for her originality, which seems lost on this new road she has taken.
A characteristic voice in Italian music, Giorgia grew up singing jazz, duets with famous Italian singers such as Andrea Bocelli, and has generally developed her individuality in a music world so used to homogeneity.
But this new song, and the video clip, are nearer to the generic efforts we get from other Italian pop singers.
Giorgia’s “Per fare a meno di te” as in the video above, is still a lovely song with a sweet melody, but anyone who is a fan of Giorgia’s more carefree, racy style, may be disappointed.
